Qommandah Qeen
Commander Keen-inspired Python platformer with pogo chaos, jetpack powerups, enemy casts, WoNQmodes, and a playable alpha already on the floor.

About This Project
Qommandah Qeen is not just a loose retro mockup. The inspected repo shows a playable pygame-ce game with a proper main loop, actors, enemy modules, levels, menu/UI scenes, assets, JSON-driven content, and a clear current state in alpha. The present build leans hard into its own identity: Commander Keen DNA run through the QonQrete / WoNQ aesthetic filter, with JumpUpstiq pogo mechanics, JettPaq flight, collectible keys and doors, multiple enemy types, and special WoNQmodes that bend gravity, time, speed, or the whole screen vibe.
Current Highlights
- Playable alpha with menu, HUD, levels, actors, and input systems
- JumpUpstiq mountable pogo stick with doubled jump height
- JettPaq flight state and projectile combat systems
- Six enemy types including WalQer Bot, Jumper DrQne, BriQ Beaver, and Hover Squid
- Six WoNQmodes such as Low-G, Bullet Time, Mirror, Glitch, and Junglist mode
- Key / door progression, collectibles, and custom WoNQ-flavoured art assets
Current State
The repo currently reports version 0.5.4-alpha and already feels like a real playable build instead of a sprite dump. It has a full entry point, actor systems, world/physics folders, scene handling, UI code, and level content wired together.
Core Gameplay Systems
- Mount and unmount the JumpUpstiq pogo stick for higher movement arcs
- Use keys and door interactions for room progression
- Pick up score items and powerups including the JettPaq
- Fight or dodge a custom enemy cast while weird WoNQmodes bend the rules
Why It Stands Out
What makes Qommandah Qeen hit different is the blend: old-school platformer feel, proper movement states, and a fully custom WoNQ/QonQrete flavour instead of generic retro cosplay. It already has the right amount of chaos in the bones.
